Kamil Piroš
Kamil Piroš (born November 20, 1978) is a Czech former professional ice hockey center/ winger, who most notably played with HC Litvínov in the Czech Extraliga as well as the Atlanta Thrashers and the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted in the eighth round, 212th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Piroš played six seasons in the Czech Extraliga before coming to North America. During that time, Buffalo Sabres traded his NHL rights (along with a fourth-round draft pick) to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Donald Audette. Piroš joined the Thrashers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, in the 2001–02 season, playing in 64 games and scoring 49 points. The San Antonio Rampage were a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League based in San Antonio, Texas. The Rampage was primarily owned by Spurs Sports & Entertainment throughout the team's existence. Kyle Rossiter (born June 9, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League for the Florida Panthers and the Atlanta Thrashers. 2001–02 AHL Season
The 2001–02 AHL season was the 66th season of the American Hockey League. It was the season of the biggest growth in the AHL's history, as it accepted eight new teams. The demise of the International Hockey League brought six teams transferring from the defunct league, in addition to two expansion teams. The AHL realigned divisions again. The Eastern conference consisted of the East, North and Canadian divisions. The Western conference consisted of the Central, South and West divisions. The league also announced three additional trophies, two of which were awarded for the regular season champions of the new divisions. The Norman R. Donald Daniel Audette (born September 23, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward who played fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Buffalo Sabres, Los Angeles Kings, Atlanta Thrashers, Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens and Florida Panthers. Playing career He was drafted in the 9th round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft, 183rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres. Despite his small stature, Audette became known for his gritty, feisty style of play and quickly endeared himself to Buffalo hockey fans with a 31-goal rookie season.
