Kvitvatnet
Kvitvatnet is a lake that lies in Sørfold Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the southeastern part of the municipality, about east of the village of Straumen. The lake lies on the north side of the Blåmannsisen glacier, just south of the Rago National Park, and just west of the border with Sweden. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Straumen, Nordland, Straumen. Blåmannsisen
or () is the fifth-largest glacier in mainland Norway. It is located on the border of Fauske Municipality and Sørfold Municipality in Nordland county, Norway—just west of the border with Sweden. Its highest point is above sea level and its lowest point is at an elevation of . Three outlet glaciers extend from the icecap. A small outlet spills over a subglacial ridge to the north damming an unnamed lake resulting in occasion outburst floods. To the east a large outlet extends towards the lake, Leirvatnet (Sørfold), Leirvatnet. A further outlet descends steeply to the west. The western and northern outlets are heavily crevassed, as is the snout of the eastern glacier calving into Leirvatnet. The glacier also calves into lake Blåmannsisvatnet, resulting in extensive crevasses in the glacier above that lake. Rago National Park
Rago National Park () is a national park in Sørfold Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The park lies east of European route E6, about northeast of the village of Straumen. The park was established on 22 January 1971. Rago borders Sweden's Padjelanta National Park, which in turn borders two other parks, and the combined of all the protected land is a total of ca. —creating one of the largest protected areas in Europe. The lakes Storskogvatnet and Litlverivatnet lie within the park. There are several glaciers in the southeastern part of the park.
