Zalaegerszeg
Zalaegerszeg (; ; ; ) is the administrative center of Zala County, Zala county in western Hungary. Location Zalaegerszeg lies on the banks of the Zala River, close to the Slovenian and Austrian borders, and west-southwest of Budapest by road. History The area was already inhabited in the Upper Paleolithic, according to archaeological findings (the oldest ones in Zala county). Later, the area was inhabited by Celts. The first written mentions of the town are as ''Egerscug'' (1247) and ''Egerszeg'' (1293); the name means "alder-tree corner" and is probably a reference to the town's situation in the angle where two rivers meet. King Béla IV of Hungary, Béla IV donated the town to the diocese of Veszprém in 1266, so that it became Church property. As Egerszeg lay somewhat distant from Veszprém, however, the taxes paid by the town often ended up in the pockets of such local oligarchs as the Kőszegi family. The 2010–11 Liga II was the 71st season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The season started on 28 August 2010 and ended on 4 June 2011. FRF approved the new system with two divisions of 16 teams each, compared to the divisions of 18 teams used last season, thus coming back to the system that was used in the 1953 Divizia B, 1953 season, between the 1968–69 Divizia B, 1968–69 season and the 1972–73 Divizia B, 1972–73 season, in the 2001–02 Divizia B, 2001–02 season and in the 2002–03 Divizia B, 2002–03 season. The 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2019–20 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, was the 121st season of top-tier football in Hungary. The season was postponed on 16 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed on 23 May. The 2017–18 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (also known as 2017–18 OTP Bank Liga), also known as NB I, was the 119th season of top-tier football in Hungary. The league was officially named ''OTP Bank Liga'' for sponsorship reasons. Budapest Honvéd FC, Honvéd were the defending champions, having won their fourteenth Hungarian league title. As in the previous season, 12 teams competed for the championship title and played 33 matches. The fixtures were published on 14 July 2017. The season was won by Puskás Akadémia FC, while Balmazújvárosi FC finished second by beating Kisvárda FC on the last day of the match day by 1–0 on 4 June 2017.
