Kristo Saage
Kristo Saage (born 2 February 1985) is an Estonian professional basketball player who plays for TLÜ/Kalev of the Korvpalli Meistriliiga. He is a 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in) tall point guard. He also represents the Estonian national basketball team internationally. Club career Kristo Saage started his basketball career in hometown BC Rakvere Tarvas (then KK Rakvere) at the age of 17. In 2004 Saage signed a deal with Estonian top team BC Kalev/Cramo. He mainly played as a substitution player, who got about 20 minutes per game. With his 3 years spell with BC Kalev/Cramo he became the Estonian champion twice and the Estonian Basketball Cup winner once. Saage moved to play basketball for BC Rakvere Tarvas once again, sharing his tenure at the first half of the season with now-defunct BC Fausto Tartu, averaging 13.0 points and 3.8 rebounds in 2006–07 season. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. They must also be able to adapt to what the defense is allowing and must control the pace of the game. A point guard specializes in certain skills, like other player positions in basketball. Estonia Men's National Basketball Team
The Estonia men's national basketball team ( et, Eesti korvpallikoondis) represents Estonia in international basketball matches. They are controlled by the Estonian Basketball Association. The team competed in their first international tournament at the 1936 Olympic Games. Estonia has also qualified for the EuroBasket six times overall, with their best results coming in 1937 and 1939. However, after 1939, Estonia halted national team activities due to the occupation of the Baltic states during World War II. The Estonian Cup ( et, Eesti karikas), also known as the Paf SuperCup for sponsorship reasons, is an annual cup competition for Estonian basketball teams. It is organized by the Estonian Basketball Association. Until the 2000–01 season, the cup tournament was held in the end of the season in spring.
