Kenny Harrison
Kenny Harrison (born Kerry Harrison, February 13, 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States) is a former track and field athlete competing in triple jump. He won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. Athletic career High school Harrison went to Brookfield Central for high school, where he competed in football, basketball and track. He holds schools records in the long, high, and triple jump. His triple jump of 52 feet 4.5 inches at the 1983 Golden West Invitational ranked him #2 triple jump prep in the nation, and currently stands as the Wisconsin high school #1 all-time triple jump by over 2 feet. The name used in North America is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. At the 1994 Goodwill Games, the Sport of athletics, athletics events were held in July at the Petrovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg, Russia. A total of 44 events were contested, of which 22 were by male and 22 by female athletes. Big Eight Conference
The Big Eight Conference was a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)-affiliated Division I-A college athletic association that sponsored American football, football. It was formed in January 1907 as the Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MVIAA) by its charter member schools: the University of Kansas, University of Missouri, University of Nebraska–Lincoln, University of Nebraska, and Washington University in St. Louis. The long jump is a track and field event in which athletes combine speed, strength and agility in an attempt to leap as far as possible from a takeoff point. Along with the triple jump, the two events that measure jumping for distance as a group are referred to as the "horizontal jumps". Golden West Invitational
The Golden West Invitational (GWI) high school track & field all-star meet brings together top high school athletes from throughout the country and provides them with the very highest levels of competition. The GWI made its debut in 1960 and is held in the Sacramento, CA area in June each year. Past participants have represented the United States in every Olympic Games since 1964 and have filled more than 150 positions on the American Olympic Track & Field teams. Brookfield Central High School is a comprehensive public secondary school located in the city of Brookfield, Wisconsin, United States. About 1200 students attend every year.
