Ken Burrough
Kenneth Othell Burrough (July 14, 1948 – February 24, 2022) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver for the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Southern Tigers and was named second-team All-American in 1969. He was a track star and played as a quarterback at William M. Raines High School. He is amongst the four players in the NFL for wear 00, others were Jim Otto, Johnny Clement and Steve Bagarus. Career Burrough was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round (10th overall) of the 1970 NFL draft. He missed much playing time his first season due to minor injuries, catching only 13 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns. In January 1971, Burrough and fellow Saint player Dave Rowe were traded to the Oilers in exchange for Hoyle Granger, Terry Stoepel, Charles Blossom, and a draft choice to be named later. Wide Receiver
A wide receiver (WR), also referred to as a wideout, and historically known as a split end (SE) or flanker (FL), is an eligible receiver in gridiron football. A key skill position of the offense (American football), offense, WR gets its name from the player being split out "wide" (near the sidelines), farthest away from the rest of the Formation (American football), offensive formation.
