Kemper Log House
The Kemper Log House is a two-story, double pen log house, which was built in 1804 by the Reverend James Kemper on Kemper Lane, in the Walnut Hills neighborhood. It was occupied by members of the Kemper family until 1897. It is one of the oldest houses built in Cincinnati, Ohio that is still standing. A log house, or log building, is a structure built with horizontal logs interlocked at the corners by notching. Logs may be round, squared or hewn to other shapes, either handcrafted or milled. The term "log cabin" generally refers to a smaller, more rustic log house, such as a hunting cabin in the woods, that may or may not have electricity or plumbing. Walnut Hills is one of the 52 neighborhoods of Cincinnati, Ohio. One of the city's oldest hilltop neighborhoods, it is a large diverse area on the near east side of Cincinnati. Heritage Village Museum
Heritage Village Museum is a recreated 1800s community in Southwestern Ohio, in the United States. The village contains 13 historic buildings from around the Cincinnati area; they were moved here to save them from destruction. The village is located within Sharon Woods Park in Sharonville, Ohio. Heritage Village is open year-round for self-guided tours.
