Karjolsteinen
''Karjolsteinen'' (The Carriage Stone) is a Norwegian drama film from 1977. The film was directed by Knut Andersen based on a novel by Sigbjørn Hølmebakk with the same name. Plot The radical author Olav Klungeland feels divided and inadequate both as a writer, as a politician, and as a fellow human being. He gradually becomes more acquainted with a former priest, Eilif Grøtteland, who comes from a small place in the southwest and lives in a hotel in Oslo at the same time as his wife is in the hospital, sick with cancer. On a rainy April night, the two young men are sitting in the hotel room. The older man tells the younger one about his life, from his childhood in small conditions further south in the country, through his youth and as a young man at the same time as he worked as a priest in Finnmark. Sigbjørn Hølmebakk
Sigbjørn Hølmebakk (2 February 1922 – 25 November 1981) was a Norwegian author. Biography Hølmebakk was born at Feda (now Kvinesdal) in Vest-Agder, Norway. His parents were Søren Adolf Svindland (1881–1966) and Inger Marie Abrahamsen Møgedal (1888–1949). His brother was the publisher and author Gordon Hølmebakk. After attending trading school, Hølmebakk worked for a few years in Oslo. In 1943 he returned to Feda to take over the small farm. Hølmebakk's début in literature came in 1950 with the novel "Don't Talk About the Fall" (''Ikke snakk om høsten''). As an author he was a realist, who wrote of existential questions with force and skillfully explored social backgrounds. He was a much beloved author before he died at the relatively young age of 59. Erik Øksnes
Erik Øksnes (November 14, 1930 – June 15, 1998) was a Norwegian actor whose main work was on the stage. Øksnes made his stage debut in 1954 as Amos in Arthur Miller's ''The Man Who Had All the Luck'' (Norwegian title: ''Mannen som hadde lykken med seg'') at the National Traveling Theater. He was later employed at the Rogaland Theater from 1963 to 1966, the Trøndelag Theater from 1966 to 1969, and the Norwegian Theater from 1969 onward. Maryon Eilertsen (9 January 1950 – 24 January 2015) was a Norwegian actress and theatre director. She was born in Svolvær. She was educated at the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre, and was assigned with Hålogaland Teater for the most of her career, from 1977. Alf Malland
Alf Malland (24 January 1917 – 16 August 1997) was a Norwegian actor. Biography He was born in Bergen, Norway. He began his acting career as a student at the Det Norske Teatret in Oslo. Following the German occupation of Norway during World War II, he quit as a theater student and participated in the resistance. Malland first went to Sweden and in 1942 he left for Great Britain where he trained as a paratrooper. He arrived at Finnmark in November 1944 as company commander with the Norwegian forces. In 1946, he was again at Det Norske Teatret and took up his theater studies. He was first employed there then freelanced. He appeared in 42 films and television shows between 1949 and 1987. Thorleif Reiss
Thorleif Dymling Reiss (May 22, 1898 – April 14, 1988) was a Norwegian actor. Career Reiss made his debut at the National Theater in Oslo in 1918. From 1931 to 1939, he was employed at the Carl Johan Theater, where he also served as co-director. From 1942 onward he was employed at the New Theater. Family Reiss was the son of the lawyer, composer, and musicologist Georg Reiss and Elisabeth Dymling (1861–1920). He was the brother of the pianist and cabaret performer Elisabeth Reiss and the father of the actor Helge Reiss. Roy Bjørnstad
Roy Bjørnstad (September 29, 1925 – November 25, 2005) was a Norwegian actor. Bjørnstad made his debut in 1945 at the People's Theater in Sweden. Throughout his career, he was associated with several theaters in Norway, including the Trøndelag Theater from 1949 to 1951, the Rogaland Theater from 1953 to 1960, and then several periods with NRK's Television Theater in the 1960s and 1970s. Frimann Falck Clausen
Frimann Falck Clausen (February 15, 1921 – March 23, 1983) was a Norwegian actor. He played the role of the truck owner Hjul in the children's series ''Jul i Skomakergata'' in 1979 and the wealthy farmer Torsøien in the Norwegian film comedy ''Bør Børson Jr.'' and its sequel. Clausen started his acting career at the Frater Theater in Drammen, where he took part in both revues and theater productions. Later he moved to Oslo, where he performed at several theaters, among them the Norwegian Theater, Oslo New Theater, and National Theatre. He also took part in several productions of NRK's Television Theater. In 1958, Clausen married the actress Anne-Lise Tangstad. Clausen died in 1983.
