Kandharvan
''Kandharvan'' is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Salangai Durai and starring Kathir and Honey Rose. Cast Production The film began production in 2009. Kathir, who played a lorry driver in Salangai Durai's earlier film '' Kathavarayan'' (2008), was cast in this film as a water tank lorry driver. He practised lorry driving for the film. This was Malayalam actress Honey Rose's second Tamil film after '' Mudhal Kanave'' (2007), but the delay of the film meant that this was her fourth Tamil film after '' Singam Puli'' (2011). The climax was shot in Chennai. Soundtrack The music was composed by Malayalam composer Alex Paul in his Tamil debut. Reception A critic from ''The New Indian Express'' wrote that "The director’s earlier debut film ''Kathavarayan'' was a far better effort than this one". Salangai Durai
Salangai Durai is an Indian film director and producer, who has directed Tamil language films. He became known for the rural drama '' Kathavarayan'' (2008), and has gone on to make feature films including ''Kandharvan'' (2014) and ''Kadathal'' (2023). Career After working as a television director and a dialogue writer in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Salangai Durai made his directorial debut with '' Kathavarayan'' (2008) starring Karan and Vidisha. The film opened to negative reviews, with a critic noting "debutant director Salangai Durai may not have made a dream debut but this start is not disappointing." In early 2009, Durai began work on '' Kantharvan'', a love story narrating the tale of a romance between a lorry driver and a college girl, starring Kathir - who had featured in a small role in ''Kathavarayan''- and Honey Rose. Alex Paul
Alex Paul is an Indian music director who works in Malayalam cinema. He has composed music for fifty films. Personal life Alex is the son of M. A. Paul, a music artist who formed the first orchestra (in Malayalam: 'ganamela') troupe in Kochi & Philomina. He is the younger brother of Lal, of the directing duo Siddique-Lal, and it was in Lal's film ''Chathikkatha Chanthu'' (2004) that Alex debuted as musical director. Ganja Karuppu
Karuppu Raja, known for his stage name Ganja Karuppu (born 5 January 1976), is an Indian actor who has predominantly appeared in comedy roles in Tamil cinema. Kadhal Dhandapani
Kadhal Dhandapani (17 April 1943 – 20 July 2014) was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil cinema, Tamil, Telugu cinema, Telugu and Malayalam cinema, Malayalam films. He rose to fame portraying the antagonist in Balaji Sakthivel's ''Kaadhal'' (2004), and is credited with the film's name as a prefix. He died on 20 July 2014 owing to a cardiac arrest. Career Before entering films, Dhandapani was a businessman in Dindigul. Along with his various businesses, he was actively involved in various honorary postings in the town. Ranjini Jose
Ranjini Jose (born 4 April 1984) is an Indian playback singer, lending her voice to several songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. ''The New Indian Express'' is an Indian English-language broadsheet daily newspaper published by the Chennai-based Express Publications. It was founded in 1932 as ''The Indian Express'', under the ownership of Chennai-based P. Varadarajulu Naidu. Santwana Bhattacharya was appointed Editor-in-Chief on 1 July 2022, replacing G.S. Vasu.
