Kadet (Belgium)
Kadet was the second children's channel of Medialaan-De Persgroep (now DPG Media), which was launched on December 18, 2015, to replace the channel JIM. In December 2018, Medialaan rebranded its two children's channels, vtmKZOOM and Kadet, as VTM Kids and VTM Kids Jr. History After fourteen years the youth channel JIM stopped on December 16 midnight, because adolescents are more into adult channels and online entertainment. On December 18 at 16:00 Medialaan launched Kadet. Medialaan has developed a content deal with Disney. Daan Van Leeuwen became the head of the children's channels within Medialaan and will continue to develop both Kadet and vtmKzoom in the future. 576i is a standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. The ''576'' identifies a vertical resolution of 576 lines, and the ''i'' identifies it as an interlaced resolution. Disney XD is a Dutch free-to-air children's television channel owned by The Walt Disney Company. It broadcasts 14 hours a day, time-sharing with Dutch TV station Veronica, and is primarily aimed at children roughly between the ages of 7 and 15. The channel used to have a pay television 24-hour feed that was distributed throughout the Netherlands and Belgium (Flanders); however, it was closed down on 31 July 2018. Viewers in Belgium ( Wallonia) and Luxembourg received Disney XD France, until that feed was later shut down in 2020. All series on the channel air in Dutch, either dubbed or originally produced in that language. However, the 24-hour feed of the network used to offer an optional English audio track for most programming. Jetix (stylized as JETIX) was a children's entertainment brand owned by The Walt Disney Company. The brand was for a slate of action/adventure-related programming blocks and television channels. Jetix programming mainly originated from the Saban Entertainment library, airing live-action and animated series with some original programming. Jetix was first launched as a programming block in the United States on Toon Disney on February 14, 2004, to compete with Cartoon Network's Toonami block, and in Europe in April 2004. Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems.
