Kaartinkaupunki (, ) is a neighbourhood in the southern part of Helsinki, Finland Finland, officially the Republic of Finland, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. Kolmikulma
Kolmikulma (; literally meaning "Triangle"), also known as the Diana Park, is a small, Right triangle, rectangular triangular-shaped park located in the Kaartinkaupunki district in the city center of Helsinki, Finland. It is limited by the Yrjönkatu, Uudenmaankatu and Erottajankatu streets. The park was renovated in 2006 and 2007. The Kolmikulma Park is located at the intersection of the three districts; although the park belongs to the Kaartinkaupunki district, there is the Punavuori district just southwest of the quarter and the Kamppi district to the northwest. The triangular nature of the park is due to its location on the border of two Grid plan, grid pattern areas in different directions. The houses surrounding the block were built mainly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. For a long time, the National Board of Customs operated in the house north of the park. Vanha Kauppahalli
The Old Market Hall (; ) is the oldest market hall in Helsinki, Finland. It is located along the Eteläranta street near the Helsinki Market Square in the Kaartinkaupunki district. By 2013, the hall had also become a popular tourist attraction. History The building was designed by Gustaf Nyström and the market hall began operations in 1889. The building technology of the market hall was last renovated between 2012 and 2014, when the hall was closed for a year and a half. Havis Amanda
''Havis Amanda'' is a fountain and a statue in Helsinki, Finland by the sculptor Ville Vallgren (1855–1940). The work was modelled in 1906 in Paris, and erected at its present location at the Market Square in Kaartinkaupunki in 1908. Today it is recognized as one of the most important and beloved pieces of art in Helsinki. Sculpture The ''Havis Amanda'' is one of Vallgren's Parisian Art Nouveau works. Cast in bronze, it rests on a fountain made of granite. The sculpture is of a mermaid standing on seaweed as she rises from the water, with four fish spouting water at her feet, surrounded by four sea lions. Vallgren's intention was to symbolize the rebirth of Helsinki. The height of the statue is and with the pedestal it stands tall. According to Vallgren's letters the model for the statue was a then 19-year-old Parisian woman, Marcelle Delquini. Kluuvi
Kluuvi (; ) is the commercial centre of Helsinki, Finland, and a neighbourhood in the Vironniemi district of Helsinki. The Helsinki Central railway station, Hotel Kämp and Hotel Arthur, the Helsinki main post office, the Stockmann and Sokos department stores, the Kluuvi shopping centre and the main offices of Finnish banks are located in Kluuvi. Helsinki Market Square
The Market Square (Finnish: ''Kauppatori'', Swedish: ''Salutorget'') is a central square in Helsinki, Finland. It is located in central Helsinki, at the eastern end of Esplanadi and bordering the Baltic Sea to the south and Katajanokka to the east. HSL maintains a year-round ferry link from Market Square to Suomenlinna, and in the summer there are also private companies providing ferry cruises, both to Suomenlinna and to other nearby islands. Korkeavuorenkatu (; literal translation, 'street of the high mountain') is a street in Helsinki, Finland. It runs north–south from Etelä-Esplanadi to the junction with Vuorimiehenkatu, where it becomes Kapteeninkatu. Its total length is approximately 860m (2,627 ft). Punavuori
Punavuori (; ) is a neighbourhood in the center of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The name Punavuori () refers to red cliffs located between Sepänkatu and Punavuorenkatu. They were still visible in the 19th century, nowadays they are covered with buildings and pavement. Punavuori was traditionally a working-class neighbourhood, today it is known as a bohemian district popular among artists, students and hipsters. It is one of the most densely populated areas in Finland. After the new location and growth of Helsinki in the 18th century, Punavuori became the area next to the center. During the 19th century the district had a seedy reputation. Most of the brothels and beerhouses were found in Punavuori. The city of Helsinki, the capital of Finland, can be divided into various sorts of subdivisions. Guard Of Finland
Finnish Guards' Rifle Battalion (, , ), colloquially known as just Finnish Guards (, ) was a Grand Duchy of Finland light infantry during 1829–1905 based in Helsinki. Continuing the legacy of the Finnish Training Battalion (1817), it was part of the Imperial Russian Army and the only Finnish unit of the Russian Imperial Guard. For the most of its history, the battalion also functioned as the only operational Finnish military unit. Because of its status as both a national showpiece and as a part of the Imperial Guard, it had a visible role in Finland. The Finnish Guards' Battalion participated in four campaigns outside Finland.
