KDNL
KDNL-TV (channel 30) is a television station in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, affiliated with ABC. Owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, the station maintains studios at the University Tower in the suburb of Richmond Heights and a transmitter in Shrewsbury. Channel 30 in St. Louis was sought on several occasions in the 1950s and early 1960s, though no station materialized. The fourth attempt to build the channel was originally spearheaded by a group of local investors as well as Washington attorney John Dean; after the construction permit for KDNL-TV was sold to Thomas Mellon Evans, the station began broadcasting on June 8, 1969. It served as the second independent station for the St. Louis area, airing syndicated reruns as well as financial news and sports. River City Broadcasting L.P. was a major television and radio station operator in mid-sized markets in the United States, based in St. Louis, Missouri. Overview The firm was formed in 1989 as a partnership between Barry Baker and Larry Marcus, both former executives of Koplar Communications in St. Louis who had unsuccessfully tried to buy Koplar's KPLR-TV there. KFUO (850 kHz) is a non-commercial AM radio station licensed to Clayton, Missouri, U.S., and serving Greater St. Louis. It has a Christian radio format. Owned and operated by The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), its radio studios and offices are in the LCMS headquarters in Kirkwood, Missouri. KFUO is a daytimer station, powered at 5,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna from a transmitter site on the grounds of the Concordia Seminary in Clayton.
