Junior Minister (Northern Ireland)
The term Junior Minister, in Northern Ireland, is the name given to two positions in the Executive Office, a department in the Northern Ireland Executive answerable to the First Minister and deputy First Minister. The positions are currently vacant. Under the Northern Ireland Act 1998, the First Minister and Deputy First Minister acting jointly may determine that a number of members of the Northern Ireland Assembly shall be appointed as junior ministers. The salary of each junior minister in 2007–2008 (when devolution was restored) was £60,067.42, which decreased to the current level of £55,000.00 in 2016. Michelle McIlveen MLA (born 21 January 1971) is a Unionist politician from Northern Ireland representing the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). Martina Anderson
Martina Anderson (born 16 April 1962) is an Irish former politician from Northern Ireland who served as Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Foyle from 2020 to 2021, and previously from 2007 to 2012. A member of Sinn Féin, she served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) representing Northern Ireland from 2012 to 2020. Gerard Kelly (Irish: Gearard Ó Ceallaigh; born 5 April 1953) is an Irish republican politician and former Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) member who played a leading role in the negotiations that led to the Good Friday Agreement on 10 April 1998. Gary Middleton (born 20 June 1990) is a Unionist politician from Northern Ireland representing the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). Alastair Ross
Alastair Ross (born 4 March 1981) is a former Unionist politician from Northern Ireland representing the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). Ross studied at Friends' School in Lisburn and at the University of Dundee before returning to study Irish Politics at Queen's University Belfast.
