Charles Hubbard Judd
Charles Hubbard Judd (February 20, 1873 – July 18, 1946) was an American educational psychologist who played an influential role in the formation of the discipline. Part of the larger scientific movement of this period, Judd pushed for the use of scientific methods to the understanding of education and, thus, wanted to limit the use of theory in the field. Judd who was known for applying scientific methods to the study of educational issues. Born in Bareilly, India of American missionary parents, he moved to the United States with his parents Charles Wesley Judd and Sarah Hubbard Judd in 1879. Alice Louise Judd Simpich (1918–2006), also known as Awee Simpich was an American sculptor. She was born in Honolulu on March 1, 1918, and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1940. Winnie Ruth Judd
Winnie Ruth Judd (January 29, 1905 – October 23, 1998), born Winnie Ruth McKinnell, also known as Marian Lane, was a medical secretary in Phoenix, Arizona, who was accused of murdering her friends, Agnes Anne LeRoi and Hedvig Samuelson, in October 1931. The murders were discovered when Judd transported the victims' bodies, one of which had been dismembered, from Phoenix to Los Angeles, California by train in trunks and other luggage, causing the press to name the case the "Trunk Murders". Judd allegedly committed the murders to win over the affections of Jack Halloran, a prominent Phoenix businessman. Judd was tried for LeRoi's murder, found guilty, and sentenced to death. However, the sentence was later repealed after she was found mentally incompetent, and she was committed to the Arizona State Asylum for the Insane (later renamed the Arizona State Hospital). Stoddard Judd (May 18, 1797March 2, 1873) was an American physician, politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He served 4 years in the Wisconsin Legislature, representing Dodge County. Earlier, he served three terms in the New York State Assembly. Biography Born in Sharon, Connecticut, Judd graduated from Albany Medical College and practiced medicine in Dutchess County, New York. In 1829, 1835, and 1836, Judd served in the New York State Legislature. Then, in 1841, President William Henry Harrison appointed Judd land receiver in Green Bay, Wisconsin Territory. He moved to Fox Lake, Wisconsin in 1845. Judd was also involved in the railroad business, serving as president of the La Crosse Railroad.
