Juan Pablo Santiago Santiago (born 25 August 1980) is a Mexican retired footballer. Career Born in Zapotiltic, Santiago began playing football with the youth side of Atlas before making his senior debut in 1999. In a more than 10-year career, Santiago played for Atlas, Veracruz, Santos Laguna and Tijuana. The central defender won the Primera División with Santos in 2008. On 9 March 2013, he announced his retirement from professional football. Zapotiltic is a town and municipality in the south region of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is approximately 115 km south of Guadalajara. According to the "Conteo de Poblacion y Vivienda of 2015" the town has a population of 29,190. Toponymy Zapotiltic comes from the Náhuatl words ''Tzápotl'' (zapote) and ''tlíitic'' (black), meaning ''"place of the black zapotes"''. This name was adopted due to the abundance of this fruit in the area in the past. The SM-65F Atlas, or Atlas-F, was the final operational variant of the Atlas missile, only differing from the Atlas E in the launch facility and guidance package used. It first flew on 8 August 1961, and was deployed as an operational ICBM between 1961 and 1966. Club Santos Laguna S.A. de C.V. (), commonly known as Santos Laguna or Santos, is a Mexican professional football club that competes in the Liga MX. It is located in northern Mexico and represents the urban area of La Comarca Lagunera, made up of the surrounding municipalities of Torreón, Gómez Palacio , Lerdo and Matamoros .
