José Ortiz (comics)
José Ortiz Moya (1 September 1932 – 23 December 2013) was a Spanish comics artist, best known for several collaborations with Antonio Segura, such as the series '' Hombre''. Biography José Ortiz was born in Cartagena, in the Region of Murcia. His career began at an early age, winning an artistic tournament held by the Spanish magazine ''Chicos''. After a period of making pocket sized comics, he created the series ''Sigur el Vikingo'' and ''Johnny Fogata'' in 1959, and ''Carolynn Baker'' for the English newspaper '' Daily Express'' in 1962. Ortiz joined Warren Publishing in 1974 due to his connections with the Valencia studio of Selecciones Ilustradas. He would remain with Warren until 1983 and drew more stories for that company (approximately 120) than any other artist. Michael Netzer
Michael Netzer (born 9 October 1955) is an American-Israeli artist best known for his comic book work for DC Comics and Marvel Comics in the 1970s, as well as for his online presence. Early life Michael Nasser (later Netzer) was born in Detroit, Michigan, U.S. His father was Adel Nasser a-Din, a Druze doctor of philosophy who worked most of his life in a Ford factory. His mother, Adele Ghazali, is a daughter to a Druze-Lebanese father and a Jewish-Lebanese mother who settled in New York in the 1920s. He contracted polio at the age of eight months which partially paralyzed his left hip and leg. After two years of medical treatment, he was sent with his mother and siblings to his father's Druze hometown, Dayr Qūbil in Lebanon. In 1967, at the age of 11, he returned to Detroit. The Tower King
"The Tower King" is a British comic strip, appearing in titles published by IPC Magazines. The story was published in the anthology ''Eagle'' from 27 March to 4 September 1982, written by Alan Hebden, with art by José Ortiz. The story was set in a dystopian London, where society has broken down. Creation While the relaunched ''Eagle'' included a mix of photo and conventional picture strips. "The Tower King" was one of the latter. It was written by IPC stalwart Alan Hebden, who had experience writing for ''Battle Picture Weekly'' (including creating Major Eazy) and '' 2000 AD''. José Ortiz provided the art; while the strip was in black-and-white, the web offset printing method used for ''Eagle'' meant he was able to give the art a grey wash, enhancing the atmosphere and detail. A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper. British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. Soleil Productions is a French publisher of both original and imported comic books. History Soleil was founded in 1989 in Toulouse. Ken Parker is a fictional character from a series of eponym Italian comics created in 1974 by Giancarlo Berardi and Ivo Milazzo. He is a widely appreciated character in Italy and all over former Yugoslavia. First issue of the series, "Lungo fucile" ("long rifle") was published by the Italian publisher CEPIM. Ken Parker, however, had been created three years earlier on a magazine of the same publisher. The series ran for 59 numbers.
