Joseph Benhard
Joseph Benhard (born 10 May 1972) is a Namibian boxer. Bernhard competed for Namibia at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Fighting as a light flyweight, Benhard lost to Spaniard Rafael Lozano in the first round. He also represented Namibia at the 1994 Commonwealth Games The 1994 Commonwealth Games (French: ''XVéme Jeux du Commonwealth'') were held in Victoria, British Columbia, from 18 to 28 August 1994. Ten types of sports were featured at the Victoria Games: athletics, aquatics, badminton, boxing, cycling .... Benhard turned professional in 2004 but lost the light weight challenge in 2005 to Simon Negodhi. He then tried to make a comeback but his age wouldn’t allow it. Nicknamed "Fimbi Kaliwa", he is still undefeated in his amateur boxing career. He founded the Kilimanjaro Boxing club in March 2007. New Era (Namibia)
The ''New Era'' is a daily national newspaper owned by the government of Namibia. The newspaper is one of four daily national newspapers in the country, the others being '' The Namibian'' (English and Oshiwambo), ''Die Republikein'' (Afrikaans) and '' Allgemeine Zeitung'' ( German). ''New Era'' was created by the ''New Era Publications Corporation Act of 1992''. According to Ullamaija Kivikuru, it copied the format of ''The Namibian'' in order to establish credibility. The two newspapers still resemble each other in having long stories spread over several pages. Light flyweight, also known as junior flyweight or super strawweight, is a weight class in boxing. Professional boxing The weight limit at light flyweight in professional boxing is 108 pounds (49 kilograms). When New York legalized boxing in 1920, the law stipulated a "junior flyweight" class, with a weight limit of 99 pounds. When the National Boxing Association was formed in 1921, it also recognized this weight class. However, on January 19, 1922, the NBA decided to withdraw recognition of the junior flyweight division. On December 31, 1929, the New York State Athletic Commission also abolished the junior flyweight class. No champion had been crowned in this division prior to its abolition. The World Boxing Council (WBC) decided to resurrect this division in the 1970s. The first champion in this division was Franco Udella, who won the WBC title in 1975. Ongwediva
Ongwediva is a town in the Oshana Region in the north of Namibia. It is the district capital of the Ongwediva electoral constituency. it had 27,000 inhabitants and covered 4,102 hectares of land. Ongwediva has seven churches, two private schools and 13 government-run schools. Most of the inhabitants speak Oshiwambo. History Ongwediwa started out as a Finnish mission station in 1926. A school for male students was built there at the time, focusing on practical skills. It is talked about as an agricultural and industrial school, although the agricultural emphasis soon faded away. The school started in February 1927, and it was a secondary school, which one could attend after completing primary school. Towards the end of the 1920s, the school started to receive subsidies from the South African government, although this was only a modest £100 per year. Okalongo
Okalongo is a settlement in the Omusati Region of northern Namibia, situated from Outapi. It is the district capital of the Okalongo Constituency. Okalongo and the surrounding area is inhabited by the Ombadja tribe of the Ovambadja people that migrated from southern Angola, to the northern Namibia during the late 18 centuries to the early 19 centuries.
