Jon Garth Murray
Jon Garth Murray (November 16, 1954 – September 29, 1995) served as president of American Atheists, a non-governmental organization that lobbied on the separation of church and state. He was the second son of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, an activist who founded American Atheists in 1963 and served as its first president. He was the half-brother of William J. Murray. Career and activism From 1986 until his death in 1995, Murray held the ''de jure'' office of President of American Atheists. It was a title without power, however, as his mother retained authoritative control behind-the-scenes. Personal life and death Jon Garth Murray, called "Garth", was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1954, the son of Madalyn Murray O'Hair and Michael Fiorillo, her boyfriend at the time. Zilker Park
Zilker Metropolitan Park is a recreational area in south Austin, Texas at the juncture of Barton Creek and the Colorado River that comprises over of publicly owned land. It is named after its benefactor, Andrew Jackson Zilker, who donated the land to the city in 1917. The land was developed into a park during the Great Depression in the 1930s. Today the park serves as a hub for many recreational activities and the hike and bike trail around Lady Bird Lake, both of which run next to the park. The large size of the park makes it a capable venue for large-scale events such as the Austin City Limits Music Festival and the Zilker Park Kite Festival. Lou Neff Point
Lou Neff Point is a promontory with a gazebo in Austin, Texas, United States. Description and history The point offers views of downtown Austin from where Barton Creek enters Lady Bird Lake. In 1975, the Texas Society of Landscape Architects selected Lou Neff Point as the "best example of Texas Public Architecture". The Austin Group-designed gazebo was installed in 1993. Lou Neff Point was widened and restored by The Trail Foundation with funding provided by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, the Stillwater Foundation, friends of Nancy Kohler, and members of The Trail Foundation.
