John Joseph (singer)
John Joseph McGowan (born October 3, 1962) is a musician and author, most famous for his work as one of the lead singers of the Cro-Mags. He is currently the vocalist of Bloodclot. He is a triathlete competitor, he writes about his "positive mental attitude" and vegan lifestyle, and he is known for his anti-vaccine stance against mandatory vaccine policy requirements. Early life McGowan was raised in foster care, and grew up on the streets of New York City. Career McGowan joined the New York City hardcore punk band Cro-Mags as the lead singer in 1981 for six months until the band broke up, and again from 1984 until 1987, taking over on vocals from Eric Casanova. He sang on a demo and wrote lyrics on the band's first, third, and fourth albums (''The Age of Quarrel'', '' Alpha Omega'', and '' Near Death Experience''). Cro-Mags
Cro-Mags are an American hardcore punk band from New York City. The band, which has a strong cult following, has released six studio albums, with the first two considered the most influential. With a Hare Krishna background, they were among the first bands to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal. Cro-Mags have gone through many line-up changes since the band's beginnings. Flanagan has been the sole trademark owner of the group's name since the early 1990s, the primary songwriter (a claim strongly denied by founding member Parris Mayhew in multiple recent interviews regarding the first three albums), and only member featured on every album, while Joseph and Jayson continued to tour with other musicians using the Cro-Mags name, against the wishes of Flanagan. An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), consisting of a swim, a bicycle ride and a marathon run completed in that order, a total of .
