John Humphrey (bass Player)
John Michael Humphrey is a bass player who has toured with guitarist Scott Henderson since 1998, performing with drummer, Kirk Covington, as a trio. Together they recorded '' Well To The Bone'' in 2003. Humphrey has also been employed as a bass instructor at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Humphrey and Scott Henderson previously performed together in Jean-Luc Ponty's band during their "Fables" world tour in 1986. During the years of 1990 through 1995 Humphrey played bass for Carole King. He recorded with her on her 1992 album ''The Colour of Your Dreams'', and with her 1994 '' In Concert'', and he participated in the PBS video production ''Carole King, In Concert''. Humphrey has previously toured as a member of the group Savoy Brown, recording with them on their 1981 albums ''Rock'n'Roll Warriors'' and ''Greatest Hits Live''. Scott Henderson
Scott Henderson (born August 26, 1954) is an American jazz fusion and blues guitarist best known for his work with the band Tribal Tech. Tribal Tech Henderson formed Tribal Tech with bass player Gary Willis in 1984. Under the direction of Henderson and Willis, Tribal Tech became one of the most highly regarded fusion bands of the 1980s. During the band's initial run until their dissolution following the 2000 album ''Rocket Science'', Henderson brought himself to the forefront of modern jazz/fusion guitar playing. In 1991 he was named '#1 Jazz Guitarist' by Guitar World magazine, and in January 1992 he was voted best jazz guitarist in Guitar Player magazine's Annual Reader's Poll. Tribal Tech reunited and released an album entitled ''X'' in 2011, but in June 2014, Henderson posted on his message board that the band would again be dissolving. Kirk Covington
Kirk Covington is a drummer best known for his work with the jazz fusion group Tribal Tech. Covington was born in Midland, Texas, where he attended the University of North Texas College of Music, where he met bassist Gary Willis, with whom he later joined Tribal Tech. Covington has performed or recorded with other musicians including Joe Zawinul, Robben Ford, Allan Holdsworth, Scott Henderson, and John Humphrey. Jean-Luc Ponty
Jean-Luc Ponty (born 29 September 1942) is a French jazz violinist and composer. Early life Ponty was born into a family of classical musicians in Avranches, France. His father taught violin, his mother taught piano. At sixteen, he was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, graduating two years later with the institution's highest honor, Premier Prix (first prize). He was hired by the Concerts Lamoureux in which he played for three years. While still a member of the orchestra in Paris, Ponty picked up a side job playing clarinet (which his father had taught him) for a college jazz band, that regularly performed at local parties. It proved life-changing. A growing interest in Miles Davis and John Coltrane compelled him to take up tenor saxophone. Savoy Brown (originally Savoy Brown Blues Band) were an English blues rock band formed in Battersea, south west London, in 1965. Part of the late 1960s blues rock movement, Savoy Brown primarily achieved success in the United States, where they promoted their albums with non-stop touring. Founder, guitarist and primary songwriter Kim Simmonds was the sole constant member of the band from its formation in 1965 until his death in 2022. Career The band was formed by guitarist Kim Simmonds and harmonica player John O'Leary, following a chance meeting at Transat Imports record shop in Lisle Street, Soho, in 1965. Mark Adrian Humphrey (born December 27, 1960) is a Canadian actor best known for the role of Jake Antonelli in the Canadian television series ''E.N.G.'' Paul Humphrey (22 September 1959 – 4 April 2021) was a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician who played keyboards and guitar and was best known as the lead singer for the 1980s Canadian new wave band Blue Peter. Humphrey had also been the leader of The Paul Humphrey Band, The Monkey Tree, and Broken Arrow. Blue Peter Blue Peter was founded by Humphrey and Chris Wardman in the late 1970s when they were high school students.
