John G. Young (filmmaker)
John G. Young is an American director, producer and writer. He graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase (SUNY Purchase)where he now teaches and is Chair of The Film Conservatory. His feature films include ''Parallel Sons'' in 1995, '' The Reception'' in 2005, '' Rivers Wash Over Me'' in 2009, and ''bwoy'' in 2016, starring ''RENT's'' Anthony Rapp. He also produced ''Garden'' in 2004. John Gilbert Young was also a VP of Production and Editorial Director for Human Relations Media (HRM) for almost two decades, having created over one hundred award-winning programs for the company. Film Director
A film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the screenplay (or script) while guiding the film crew and actors in the fulfilment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design and all the creative aspects of filmmaking. The film director gives direction to the cast and crew and creates an overall vision through which a film eventually becomes realized or noticed. Darien Evans, better known by his stage name, Darien Sills-Evans, is an American actor, writer, comedian, and director. He is best known for Darien in '' Cosby'' (1998-2000), CSU Tech Foster in ''Third Watch'' (2002-2005) and Andrew in '' The Reception'' (2005). Television career Early in his career, Evans was best known for his television career including playing "Darien" on 17 episodes of the CBS sitcom '' Cosby'' from 1998 until 2000, and as “Dr. Fields” on the NBC drama ''Third Watch'' in 22 episodes from 2002 until 2005. The Sundance Film Festival (formerly Utah/US Film Festival, then US Film and Video Festival) is an annual film festival organized by the Sundance Institute. Outfest
Outfest is an LGBTQ-oriented nonprofit that produces two film festivals, operates a movie streaming platform, and runs educational services for filmmakers in Los Angeles. Frameline Film Festival
The Frameline Film Festival (aka San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival) (formerly San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival; San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival) began as a storefront event in 1976. The first film festival, named the Gay Film Festival of Super-8 Films, was held in 1977. The festival is organized by Frameline, a nonprofit media arts organization whose mission statement is "to change the world through the power of queer cinema".
