Jackie Beynon
John Alfred Beynon ometimes mis-spelt Benyon(22 September 1909 – 26 June 1937) was a Welsh footballer who played for Doncaster Rovers and Aberdeen until his death from peritonitis on a club tour of South Africa in 1937. Beynon signed for Aberdeen in February 1933 from Doncaster Rovers (having earlier played for other clubs in the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region, namely Halifax Town, Scunthorpe United and Rotherham United) and established himself as the outside left in the ''Dons first team, although he switched to the right wing at times, particularly following the arrival of Bill Strauss in 1936. Sir John Beynon, 1st Baronet
Sir John Wyndham Beynon, 1st Baronet, CBE (2 December 1864 – 13 October 1944) was a Welsh iron and steel manufacturer and coal owner. Beynon was born in Castleton, Monmouthshire. He was educated at Clifton College, after which he went into business and eventually became chairman and managing director of the Ebbw Vale Steel Iron and Coal Company, as well as being a director of a number of other iron, steel and coal concerns. He was also chairman of the South Wales Coal Owners' Association. During the First World War he served in the Army Service Corps as a major, commanding the Monmouthshire (Volunteer) Motor Transport. He was also Monmouthshire county director of Auxiliary Hospitals and Voluntary Aid Detachments for the British Red Cross Society. He was High Sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1917. John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris (; 10 July 1903 – 11 March 1969) was an English science fiction writer best known for his works published under the pen name John Wyndham, although he also used other combinations of his names, such as John Beynon and Lucas Parkes. Some of his works were set in post-apocalyptic landscapes. His best known works include ''The Day of the Triffids'' (1951), filmed in 1962, and '' The Midwich Cuckoos'' (1957), which was filmed in 1960 as '' Village of the Damned'', in 1995 under the same title, and again in 2022 in Sky Max under its original title. Wyndham was born in Warwickshire and spent most of his childhood in private education in Devon and Hampshire. He tried several careers before publishing a novel and several short stories. John Beynon (academic)
John David Emrys Beynon (born 11 March 1939) is a British academic who served as the 17th Principal of King's College London. Biography He was educated at the University of Wales and at the University of Southampton. From 1964-67 he was a lecturer at the University of Southampton. He was Professor of Electronics at the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology from 1977–79, and then Head of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Surrey from 1979-83. He then became Principal of King's College London in 1990, serving until 1992, when he resigned after a breakdown of trust. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, the Royal Academy of Engineering, and of King's College London.
