John Bean (cricketer)
John Reginald Bean (16 January 1913 – 27 August 2005) was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. His military career spanned from 1933–1956 with the Royal Artillery, during which he served in the Second World War. He also played first-class cricket for the British Army cricket team. Life and military career Bean was born at Bangalore in January 1913, in what was then a part of British India. He was educated in England at Ampleforth College, before attending the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. He graduated from Woolwich in August 1933, entering into the Royal Artillery as a second lieutenant. He made his only appearance in first-class cricket for the British Army cricket team against Cambridge University at Fenner's in May 1936. Batting twice in the match, he was dismissed for a single run in the Army's first-innings by William Rees-Davies, while in their second-innings he was dismissed for 19 runs by Jahangir Khan. John Bean (politician)
John Edward Bean (27 June 1927 – 9 November 2021) was a British political activist and writer, who was a long-standing participant in far-right politics in the United Kingdom, and a number of its movements. Early life Born in Carshalton, Surrey, at the age of 13 he suffered the trauma of being bombed out with his family living in Blackfen, Sidcup, February 1941. Bean said that he briefly flirted with communism whilst at school, calling for support for the Soviet Union. His initial fervour soon faded and by the time he began his National service in 1945, Bean was largely apolitical. Initially he was a trainee navigator in the RAF Volunteer Reserve and later as a sailor in the Royal Navy. Bean became a radar mechanic and was placed on HMS Bulawayo, a fleet supply ship which made several visits to Trinidad until the end of his naval service in June 1948. John Bean (cinematographer)
John Wayne Bean ACS (12 June 1963 – 18 August 2011) was an Australian cinematographer who worked at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) for over 20 years. Bean was born in Rockhampton, Queensland, to Judy (née Suthers) and Colin, a carpenter. He had a younger sister, Tammy. After graduating from Glenmore State High School, he initially studied graphic design at the Queensland College of Art in Brisbane, before he majored in film and television and earned a Diploma in Arts in 1983. In 1984, Bean started working at regional television station RTQ7 Rockhampton. He then moved to DDQ10 Toowoomba two years later. From 1989 to 1994, he worked in the Canberra Press Gallery. In 1993, while working as a cameraman for ''Landline'', Bean became friends with reporter Pip Courtney. They married on 23 January 1999. John William Bean
John William Bean (1824 – 19 July 1882) was a British criminal and mental patient. He was most known for attempting to assassinate Queen Victoria with a gun loaded with paper and tobacco. Born a dwarf with a hunchback, Bean shot at the Queen because he wanted to be transported to a penal colony as he was unhappy with his life in England. Instead he was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment for misdemeanour assault. Bean died in 1882 after committing suicide. Early life Bean was born in Holborn, Middlesex, the son of a jeweller and metalsmith. He was born with a hunchback and dwarfism. He attempted to join working with his father in the forge but was unable to keep up with the physical requirements for the work. He also had failed apprenticeships with a cheesemonger and at Her Majesty's Stationery Office. Bean became fascinated by stories of Edward Oxford who had attempted to assassinate Queen Victoria.
