Jewel Ponferada
Jewel Ponferada (born July 8, 1988) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was selected 13th overall in the 2012 PBA draft by the San Mig Coffee Mixers. College career Ponferada played for the NU Bulldogs. He mostly played center during his stay there, but also played power forward. In 2010, he made a game-winning triple with 2.9 seconds left to prevent the Adamson Falcons from immediately claiming a spot in the Final Four. Professional career San Mig Coffee Mixers (2012–2013) Ponferada was drafted by the Mixers along with big men Aldrech Ramos and Gian Chiu. Gian Chiu
Gian Chiu (born January 20, 1989) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for Barako Bull Energy of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 27th overall in the 2012 PBA Draft by the B-Meg Llamados. High School career Chiu started his high school career in the Philippines with the Ateneo High School. Chiu found his way to the States after a Golden State Warriors scout discovered him, and that scout, who happened to be a friend of one of the assistant coaches at Desert Christian, recommended the assistant coach to recruit Chiu. As a senior at Desert Christian, Chiu averaged 16.6 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots. The 2021 Philippine Cup, also known as the 2021 Honda PBA Philippine Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the first conference of the 2021 PBA season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The 43rd PBA Philippine Cup started on July 16, 2021, and ended on October 29, 2021. The tournament did not allow teams to hire foreign players or imports. On August 3, the league announced that it will be suspending their games beginning August 4 after the government declared that Metro Manila will be under Enhanced Community Quarantine from August 6 to 20.
