Jesuit Secondary Education Association
The Jesuit Schools Network (JSN) is the umbrella association for secondary schools run by the Society of Jesus in North America. It is affiliated with the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States. Based in Washington, D.C., the network serves 55,000 students in 88 Jesuit schools throughout Canada and the United States, and in Belize and the Federated States of Micronesia. The three models of Jesuit education in North America are Nativity middle schools, Cristo Rey high schools, and Jesuit middle and high schools. History The network's predecessor, the Jesuit Educational Association (JEA), was founded in 1936 to serve the apostolate of secondary and postsecondary schools in the United States. Jesuit Conference Of Canada And The United States
Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States is the collaborating body of the five provincial superiors of the Society of Jesus in Canada, the United States, Belize, and Haiti. The conference includes the Canada Province (which includes Haiti) and the four provinces of the United States: USA East, USA Central and Southern (which includes Belize), USA Midwest, and USA West. The conference is led by a president, who also serves as chair of the Conference board. The administrative offices are in Washington, D.C., with eight on the full-time staff. Cristo Rey Network
The Cristo Rey Network is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2000 to increase the number of schools modeled after Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, which was founded in 1996 to prepare youth from low-income families for post-secondary educational opportunities. Schools within the Network integrate four years of college preparatory academics with continuous professional work experience that pays most of the cost of a student's education. An apostolate is a Christian organization "directed to serving and evangelizing the world", most often associated with the Anglican Communion or the Catholic Church. In more general usage, an apostolate is an association of persons dedicated to the propagation of a religion or a doctrine. The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) is a consortium of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities and three theological centers in the United States, Canada, and Belize committed to advancing academic excellence by promoting and coordinating collaborative activities, sharing resources, and advocating and representing the work of Jesuit higher education at the national and international levels.
