The House of Lubomirski is a Princely Houses of Poland, Polish princely family. The Lubomirski family's coat of arms is the Drużyna coat of arms, which is similar to the Szreniawa coat of arms but without a cross. Origin and the coat of arms The Lubomirski family have been actors in the history of Poland since the 10th century. There are two theories regarding the family's origin. One, by Adam Boniecki, a Polish heraldist, assumes that there were two branches of the family. One settled at the Szreniawa River in Proszowice County while the other established itself in Szczyrzyc County. The time of this division of the family is not known, but most likely it was before the adoption of Religion in Poland, Christianity by Poland. Anna Kostka (1575–1635)
Anna Kostka (1575–1635) was a Polish–Lithuanian noblewoman. Anna was the daughter of Jan Kostka and Zofia Odrowąż, and related to Saint Stanislas Kostka. She married Aleksander Ostrogski in 1592. She inherited the city of Jarosław as well as several other areas after her mother. After being widowed in 1603, she lived an independent life as the manager of her own and her children's dominions. She benefited the university of Jarosław, introduced the Benedictine order to the city, protected the Jesuits, commissioned several later famed art objects for the churches and became known for her charity toward the poor. Prince Aleksander Ostrogski ( be, Аляксандар Астрожскi ) (c. 1571–1603) was a nobleman of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Son of voivode of Troki and Hetman Prince Konstanty Wasyl Ostrogski and Zofia Tarnowska h. Leliwa, the daughter of voivode of Ruthenia and Kraków Hetman Jan Amor Tarnowski h. Leliwa and Zofia Szydłowiecka h. Odrowąż. He was voivode of Wołyń since 1593 and starost of Pereiaslav. In 1592 he married Anna Kostka h. Dąbrowa a Roman Catholic. Jan Piotr Sapieha (English: ''John Peter Sapieha'', 1569–1611) was a Polish-Lithuanian nobleman, general, politician, diplomat, governor of Uświat county, member of the Parliament and a skilled commander of the Polish troops stationing in the Moscow Kremlin. Sapieha was a participant of the Polish-Swedish War – he brought a private regiment of 100 Cossacks, and commanded the right wing, consisting of 400 winged hussars and mounted 700 Cossack, of the Polish-Lithuanian army during the famous Battle of Kircholm in 1605. He also participated in the Polish–Muscovite War (1605–18), where he commanded the failed siege of Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra in 1608 and later fought anti-Polish Muscovite forces near Moscow, led by Prokopy Lyapunov. He died suddenly on 15 October, during the siege of the Moscow Kremlin. Known for his ruthlessness towards the Russian peoples, he was nicknamed ''Pan Hetman'', literally meaning Mr General.
