Jackie Parker Trophy
The Jackie Parker Trophy is a Canadian Football League trophy that is awarded annually to the Most Outstanding Rookie in the West Division, since 1974. Each team in the West Division nominates a candidate from which a winner is chosen, and either this winner or the winner of the Frank M. Gibson Trophy will receive the Canadian Football League Most Outstanding Rookie Award. The award is named after former CFL star player and coach Jackie Parker. Before 1974, the Dr. Beattie Martin Trophy was originally awarded to the West's Most Outstanding Rookie before being repurposed. In 1995, as part of the failed American expansion, the Parker trophy was given to the most outstanding rookie in the North Division. Canadian Football League
The Canadian Football League (CFL; french: Ligue canadienne de football—LCF) is a professional sports league in Canada. The CFL is the highest level of competition in Canadian football. The league consists of nine teams, each located in a city in Canada. They are divided into two divisions: four teams in the East Division (CFL), East Division and five teams in the West Division (CFL), West Division. 2018 CFL Season
The 2018 CFL season was the 65th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 61st Canadian Football League season. Edmonton hosted the 106th Grey Cup on November 25, 2018. The CFL announced that this season will move to a 21-week regular season (previously a 20-week season) to increase player rest time and reduce short turnaround-times for games. Brett Jones (born July 29, 1991) is a Canadian professional American football center who is currently a free agent and life-long Disney fan. He previously played for the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings, as well as the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Dexter McCoil Sr. (born September 5, 1991) is a gridiron football coach and former safety, who is the current safeties coach for the Texas State Bobcats. He played college football at Tulsa. The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club competes in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member of the league's West Division and plays their home games at the Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium. Derel Walker (born June 29, 1991) is a Canadian football wide receiver for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Marken Michel (born July 6, 1993) is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at UMass before signing with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2016.
