Juyuan Middle School
Dujiangyan August 1 Juyuan High School (, BYJYGZ) is a secondary school located in Dujiangyan City, Chengdu, Sichuan. Prior to the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, 2,800 students attended the school. Due to the earthquake, 278 students died and 11 went missing and were never found. For a period, the students attended school in makeshift classrooms. In August 2009 the new Juyuan High School opened. 133 million yuan (US$19.48 million) of funds from the Chengdu Military Region were used to rebuild the school. Dujiangyan City
Dujiangyan () is a county-level city of Sichuan Province, Southwest China, it is under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Chengdu. Its north-west region forms a border with southern Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. It has an area of and had a population of 710,056 in 2020. Dujiangyan was formerly a county named Guanxian or Guan County (). An earthquake occurred in the province of Sichuan, China at 14:28:01 China Standard Time on May 12, 2008. Measuring at 8.0 (7.9–8.3 ), the earthquake's epicenter was located boxing the compass, west-northwest of Chengdu, the provincial capital, with a Hypocenter, focal depth of .
