Justin Hamilton (safety)
Justin Lee Hamilton (born September 17, 1982) is a former American football coach and player. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played college football at Virginia Tech and was named defensive coordinator on December 8, 2019. Early years Hamilton played high school football at Clintwood High School in Clintwood, Virginia as a tailback. College career During his college career, Hamilton played wide receiver, tailback, and free safety for the Virginia Tech Hokies. Professional career Cleveland Browns Hamilton was drafted in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns and signed a four-year contract July 2006. Safety (gridiron Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. Halfback (American Football)
A halfback (HB) is an offensive position in American football, whose duties involve lining up in the offensive backfield and carrying the ball on most rushing plays, i.e. a running back. When the principal ball carrier lines up deep in the backfield, and especially when that player is placed behind another player (usually a blocking back), as in the I formation, that player is instead referred to as a tailback. Bud Foster
Robert Eugene "Bud" Foster Jr. (born July 28, 1959) is a retired American college football coach and former player. He currently serves as a Special Assistant to Athletics Director Whit Babcock. Following the 2006 season, he received the Frank Broyles Award, which is annually given to the top assistant coach in college football. Foster's 2005 and 2006 Hokie defenses led the nation in total defense. Foster is regarded as one of the best defensive coordinators in college football. On August 1, 2019, Foster announced he was retiring at the end of the 2019 season. Pete Schmitt (born October 14, 1984) is a former American football fullback. He was signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Wisconsin–Whitewater. Early years Schmitt attended high school at Mount Horeb High School in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin where he earned All-Conference and All-Area honors in football. He was also an All-State punter. A fullback (FB) is a position in the offense (sports), offensive backfield in gridiron football, and is one of the two running back positions along with the halfback (American football), halfback. Fullbacks are typically larger than halfbacks and in most offensive schemes the fullback's duties are split among power running, pass catching, and blocking for both the quarterback and the other running back.
