Junkhouse
Junkhouse is a Canadian rock band, formed during 1989 in Hamilton, Ontario. They released three albums during the 1990s, which spawned numerous charting singles in Canada. They initially disbanded in 1998, and have performed occasional shows afterwards. History Formed in 1989 in Hamilton, Ontario, the band consisted of vocalist and guitarist Tom Wilson, guitarist Dan Achen, bassist Russ Wilson (no relation to Tom), and drummer Ray Farrugia. The band got its first widespread exposure opening for Crash Vegas on that band's tour to support their debut album, '' Red Earth''. Crash Vegas member Colin Cripps was one of Junkhouse's early mentors and supporters. In 1993, the band signed to Sony Music, and released a Sony Music publishing demo ''Here Lies Happiness'', which was a collection of their early recordings. ''Strays'' is the debut album by the Canadian rock band Junkhouse. It is the band's best-selling album, being certified Gold in Canada for selling 50,000 copies. The album was released in Japan. ''Fuzz'' is the third and final studio album by Canadian rock band Junkhouse. The album was recorded in the fall of 1996 at a converted church studio in Hamilton, Ontario, Hamilton called Catherine North, which was co-owned by guitarist Dan Achen. Thomas Lazare Wilson (born 1959) is a Canadian rock musician from Hamilton, Ontario. A veteran of the Canadian music scene, Wilson has been a writer and performer for many years. Wilson's eclectic musical style has ranged from the psychobilly/R&B sounds of the Florida Razors, to the western/roots style of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and the funk/blues-inspired rock of Junkhouse. Colin Cripps (born January 26, 1961) is a Canadian musician and record producer. Career Colin Cripps is a Canadian guitarist and member of Blue Rodeo and the Jim Cuddy Band. He has been a member and producer of the bands Crash Vegas and Junkhouse. He has also produced and written material for Kathleen Edwards, Big Wreck, Tom Wilson, Colin James, Craig Cardiff, Jim Cuddy, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Stephen Fearing, Oh Susanna, The Headstones, Sarah McLachlan, Justin Rutledge, Bryan Adams, Collin Herring, Andrew Walker, and Dawn Langstroth. Malcolm Burn
Malcolm Burn (born October 4, 1960) is a Canadian-born music producer, recording engineer and musician. Emmylou Harris's '' Red Dirt Girl'', produced by Burn, won Best Contemporary Folk Album at the 2001 Grammys. Biography Born in Cornwall, Ontario, Burn grew up in Deep River, Ontario and became lead singer/keyboardist for the 1980s Canadian band Boys Brigade. Following the dissolution of that group, he turned towards music production and solo work. In 1988 Burn relocated to New Orleans where he would work with Daniel Lanois (known for his work with U2 & Peter Gabriel) on a number of projects. Their collaboration began with Burn playing keyboards and guitar on Lanois' solo debut record '' Acadie''. Crash Vegas
Crash Vegas was a Canadian folk rock band which formed in 1988, and achieved moderate success in the early 1990s. Biography The band was formed by Michelle McAdorey and Greg Keelor of Blue Rodeo in 1988, who were also in a romantic relationship. They had met in the late 1970s, and McAdorey had later appeared in the music video for Blue Rodeo's song " Try". The two could not agree on a name for the band, originally selecting Giant Tambourine. McAdorey stated that they eventually settled on Crash Vegas by "bouncing words around", a name she liked for its "abrasive vividness". Jocelyne Lanois joined the band as bassist, and shortly after Ambrose Pottie joined as drummer.
