''Jungle Revolution'' is a studio album by English musician Michael West under the pseudonym Congo Natty. It was released on 1 July 2013, through Big Dada. It received generally favorable reviews from critics. Background Michael West has released his music under the pseudonyms Rebel MC, Conquering Lion, Blackstar, and Congo Natty. He is also known as Mikail Tafari. ''Jungle Revolution'' is West's first studio album release on Big Dada. It includes contributions from Adrian Sherwood and Skip McDonald. A remix version of the album, titled ''Jungle Revolution in Dub'', was later released in 2015. Rebel MC
Michael Alec Anthony West (born 27 August 1964 in Islington, London, England), better known as Rebel MC and Congo Natty, is a British jungle producer, spiritual chanter and toaster. He has also gone by aliases including Conquering Lion, Blackstar, Tribe of Issachar, Lion of Judah, X Project and Ras Project. Biography In the late 1980s, West formed the group Double Trouble with Michael Menson, Karl Brown (more commonly known as the UK garage DJ Karl 'Tuff Enuff' Brown) and Leigh Guest. This would lead to two hip house records reaching the UK Top 40 in 1989 - "Just Keep Rockin'" followed by " Street Tuff". The latter reached number 3 in the UK Singles Chart. Paul Scott Levy (born 28 April 1971), also known as General Levy, is an English ragga deejay, regularly employed on studio tracks by drum and bass DJs. He is best known for the track "Incredible" which he recorded with M-Beat. A remixed version of this reached number eight on the UK singles chart in 1994. Jonathan Sutter (7 July 1967 – 17 June 2016), better known by his stage name Tenor Fly, was a British singer and rapper. He rose to prominence in the ragga movement of the early 1990s. Sutter was a solo artist and later a member of Freestylers. Fly was active in the music business from 1988, and was best known for his work with other artists, such as Rebel MC, Top Cat, Barrington Levy and Sir Coxson Sound.
