Julio Lamas
Julio César Lamas (born June 9, 1964) is an Argentine professional basketball coach. He was head coach of the Japan men's national team from 2017 to 2021. He has also been the head coach of the Argentina men's national team. Club coaching career Argentina Lamas has won 5 Argentine League championships, in 1997 with Boca Juniors, in 2005 with Ben Hur, in 2008 with Libertad de Sunchales, and in 2016 and 2017, with San Lorenzo de Almagro. He also won the FIBA South American League with Ben Hur in 2006. Spain Lamas also coached in Spain. He coached in the Spanish League with Tau Cerámica (1999–2000), and in the Spanish 2nd Division with Lucentum Alicante, with which he won the Spanish 2nd Division league championship, and the Spanish 2nd tier cup competition, the Copa Príncipe, in 2002. FIBA Americas Championship 1999
The 1999 Tournament of the Americas, later known as the FIBA Americas Championship and the FIBA AmeriCup (also known as Las Americas Tournament for Men, the FIBA Americas Olympic Qualifying Tournament, or Panamerican Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Men), was a basketball championship hosted by Puerto Rico, from July 14 to July 25, 1999. The games were played in San Juan, at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum. This FIBA AmeriCup was to earn the two berths allocated to the Americas for the 2000 Olympics, in Sydney, Australia. The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administered by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Primera FEB and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs. Club Deportivo Libertad (usually called simply Libertad or Libertad de Sunchales) is a sports club from Argentina, with homebase in the Sunchales city of Santa Fe Province.
