Joseph Linklater
Joseph Linklater (12 March 1876 – 25 April 1961) was a Reform Party Member of Parliament. Military service Linklater saw active service as a private in the 6th New Zealand Contingent during the Second Boer War. During World War I he was a second lieutenant in the New Zealand Services Motor-Service Corps. Political career He was elected to the Manawatu electorate in the 1922 general election after Edward Newman retired, and held the electorate until he was defeated by Labour's Lorrie Hunter in 1935. In 1935, Linklater was awarded the King George V Silver Jubilee Medal. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a Orders, decorations, and medals of the United Kingdom#Modern honours, knight if male or dame (title), dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. Kelvin Grove, Manawatu-Wanganui
Kelvin Grove is a suburb of Palmerston North on New Zealand's North Island. It is bounded on the north by the North Island Main Trunk railway, Manawatū District and Milson, on the west by Palmerston North–Gisborne Line and Roslyn, the south by the Manawatū River, and the east by James Line and Whakarongo. It was identified as one of New Zealand's fastest growth suburbs in November 2016. The lower North Island distribution centres of Foodstuffs, Coca-Cola Amatil and Woolworths New Zealand are located in Kelvin Grove. The national customer centre of Toyota New Zealand and the Radius Peppertree rest home and hospital is also located on Roberts Line. Foxton, New Zealand
Foxton ( mi, Te Awahou) is a town in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand - on the lower west coast of the North Island, in the Horowhenua district, southwest of Palmerston North and just north of Levin. The town is located close to the banks of the Manawatu River. It is situated on State Highway 1, roughly in the middle between Tongariro National Park and Wellington. The slightly smaller coastal settlement of Foxton Beach is considered part of Foxton, and is located to the west, on the Tasman Sea coastline.
