Joseph Fauria
Joseph Jules Fauria (; born January 16, 1990) is an American former professional football tight end. He was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played college football at Notre Dame and UCLA. He also played for the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots. Early life Fauria attended Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, California. Fauria was named to the first-team all-state by CalHiSports.com. He was ranked the 7th best tight end prospect in the nation and was ranked the 24th prospect in the state of California by rivals.com. College career He played college football at Notre Dame and UCLA. On June 27, 2009, during his sophomore year, he was suspended by Notre Dame for "slapping a priest on the butt in jest", which led him to transfer to UCLA. The tight end (TE) is an offense (sports), offensive position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football. It is a hybrid that combines the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a receiver (football), receiver. Encino is a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. History Etymology The name Encino is the misspelling in masculine of Encina, the Spanish language, Spanish word for "holm oak” (Quercus ilex). Christian Ashley Fauria (born September 22, 1971) is an American former professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Colorado Buffaloes, earning third-team All-American honors in 1994. The Alliance of American Football (AAF) was a professional American football minor league. The AAF consisted of eight centrally owned and operated teams in the southern and western United States, seven of which were located in metropolitan areas with at least one major professional sports franchise. Founded by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian in 2018, the AAF began play on February 9, 2019. The league was scheduled to have a 10-week regular season and conclude with a championship game on April 27.
