Josep Santamaría
Josep Antoni Santamaría i Mateo (Xirivella, Spain, 16 July 1957) is a Spanish politician who belongs to the governing Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). Married with two children, Santamaría began architectural studies but did not complete them and subsequently worked for the Valencian regional administration. Until his election to the national parliament he served as mayor of the town of Xirivella to the immediate west of Valencia. He also served as PSOE secretary in the l'Horta Sud area which covers the satellite towns south of Valencia city. Xirivella
Xirivella () is a Municipalities of Spain, municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. It borders the Valencia, Spain, city of Valencia, Alaquàs, Picanya and Mislata. The municipality is divided by the Autovía V-30, V-30 motorway and the Turia (river), river Turia, with the La Luz district on the eastern part of the river. Since June 2012, a bridge across the motorway has connected both parts. Local issues include noise pollution, caused by the nearby Valencia Airport. Transport It is connected to central Valencia by bus routes. The town's railway stations Xirivella-L'Alter and Xirivella-Alqueries have been inactive since April 2020 and January 2021 when service was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain, COVID-19 pandemic and both stations are expected to be dismantled.
