Josef Pühringer (; born 30 October 1949 in Traun) is a former Austrian politician. From 2 March 1995 to 6 April 2017 he was the governor (Landeshauptmann) of Upper Austria. Austrian People's Party
The Austrian People's Party ( , ÖVP ) is a Christian-democratic and liberal-conservative political party in Austria. Since January 2025, the party has been led by Christian Stocker (as an acting leader). It is currently the second-largest party in the National Council, with 51 of the 183 seats, and won 26.3% of votes cast in the 2024 legislative election.
