Jorge Garbajosa
Jorge Garbajosa Chaparro (born 19 December 1977) is a Spanish former professional basketball player, the outgoing president of the Spanish Basketball Federation, and the current President of FIBA Europe. Standing at 2.07 m (6 ft 9 in), he played both power forward (basketball), power forward and small forward. He was an All-EuroLeague Team, All-EuroLeague first team selection in 2002–03 Euroleague, 2003, and an All-EuroLeague Team, All-EuroLeague second team selection in 2005–06 Euroleague, 2006, while playing for Baloncesto Málaga, Unicaja. During his stint in the NBA, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2006–07 NBA season, 2007. A serious injury the 2007–08 NBA season, following season cut his NBA career short, and he never truly recovered until his retirement. Torrejón De Ardoz
Torrejón de Ardoz () is a municipality of Spain belonging to the Community of Madrid. The European Union Satellite Centre (SatCen), an agency of the European Union, is located in Torrejón de Ardoz. It is also the location of the headquarters of the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA), the Spanish space agency. The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. The men's basketball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, began on 10 August and ended on 24 August, when the United States defeated Spain 118–107 for the gold medal. Basketball at the Summer Olympics has been a sport for men consistently since 1936. Prior to its inclusion as a medal sport, basketball was held as an unofficial demonstration event in 1904 and 1924. Women's basketball made its debut in the Summer Olympics in 1976.
