Jonny McGovern
Jonny McGovern (born July 12, 1976) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, musician, songwriter, and podcaster. He has written the lyrics for many of his own songs, and recorded three comedy/dance-pop albums (including some under his alter-ego, The Gay Pimp). On television, McGovern initially appeared as a cast member of Logo's late-night comedy sketch show, ''The Big Gay Sketch Show'' (2011), and has hosted the popular YouTube talk show '' Hey Qween!'' (2014–present) for nine seasons. He has hosted '' GoGo for the Gold'', a reality competition series based on go-go dance performers, since 2022. Early life Jonny McGovern was born to Mary McGovern and Rob Gutowski in Brooklyn, New York. His parents traveled often, and McGovern grew up primarily in Egypt and Thailand. ''Gay Pimpin' with Jonny McGovern'' is a bi-weekly free gay-themed podcast based out of Hollywood, California, originally out of New York City. The show, which is hosted by Jonny McGovern, began airing on January 16, 2006. McGovern announced on the January 11, 2010 episode that ''Gay Pimpin' with Jonny McGovern'' was ending as a regular podcast. He cited his upcoming relocation to Los Angeles and co-hosts Linda James and Martin Beauchamp's desire to spend more time with their respective families as the reasons. McGovern began re-releasing earlier episodes and recording occasional episodes updating listeners on the activities of the cast and friends. Adam Joseph (born Adam Joseph Hodges; January 10, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter, and music producer. Joseph has released two albums and 16 singles during his career. He is also the president of his own recording label, Jah Records. Joseph has composed and written songs for many singers including Jonny McGovern, Ari Gold, Lea Lorien, Alex Kassel, and other recording artists and musicians. Kareemia Baines (May 30, 1977July 25, 2020), known professionally as Lady Red Couture, was an American drag queen and singer best known as the co-host of ''Hey Qween!'' with Jonny McGovern. Born in Park City, Utah, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she became a fixture of the local drag scene. She released an album, ''#Stuntqueen'', in 2018, and she was featured in a number of other drag queens' singles and music videos throughout the 2010s. She also starred in ''Judge Lady Red'', another web series produced by McGovern. Baines died on July 25, 2020, after a flare-up of cyclic vomiting syndrome, a chronic condition that affected her throughout her life.
