Jon Lane
Jon Philip Lane (born 17 August 1949) is a British ice dancing coach and former competitor. With Janet Sawbridge, he is the 1968 World Figure Skating Championships, 1968 World bronze medalist and a two-time European medalist (silver in 1969 European Figure Skating Championships, 1969, bronze in 1968 European Figure Skating Championships, 1968). Lane emigrated to Canada with his wife, Carol. They coach ice dancing together in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario. Piper Gilles
Piper Gilles (; born January 16, 1992) is an American-Canadian ice dancer who currently represents Canada internationally. With Paul Poirier, she is the 2021 World bronze medalist and 2022–23 Grand Prix Final champion, as well as a three-time Four Continents medalist (silver in 2014 and 2020, bronze in 2019), three-time Skate Canada International champion (2019, 2021–22), and two-time Canadian national champion (2020, 2022). Gilles and Poirier competed for Canada at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Earlier in her career, Gilles competed for the United States with Timothy McKernan and Zachary Donohue, winning four medals altogether on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series. The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines, including figure skating, synchronized skating, speed skating, and short track speed skating. It was founded in Scheveningen, Netherlands, in July 1892, making it one of the oldest international sport federations. The British Figure Skating Championships (known in some years as the ''British Ice Figure and Dance Championships'' and the ''British Ice Figure & Synchronized Skating Championships'') are a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of the United Kingdom. Figure skaters compete in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Not all disciplines have been held in every year due to a lack of participants. Shane Firus (born February 21, 1994) is a Canadian ice dancer. With his skating partner, Carolane Soucisse, he is the 2018 Four Continents silver medallist. They have finished fourth at the 2017 and 2018 Canadian Championships and represented Canada on the Grand Prix circuit and at the World Championships. Firus previously competed with Caelen Dalmer and Lauren Collins in the junior and senior ranks. Personal life Shane Firus was born on February 21, 1994, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
