John Read (producer)
John Owen Read (14 November 1920 – 13 April 2006) was a British people, British television producer, cinematographer and director. Read was born in Chalfont St Giles. He is widely associated with the productions of Gerry Anderson. Having served as director of photography on ''Four Feather Falls'' (1960), ''Crossroads to Crime'' (1960), ''Supercar (TV series), Supercar'' (1961–62), ''Stingray (1964 TV series), Stingray'' (1964-65) and ''Thunderbirds (TV series), Thunderbirds'' (1965–66), Read worked on the latter show's second series, the film ''Thunderbirds Are Go'' (1966) and the subsequent series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' (1967–68) as associate producer. He returned to cinematography for the film ''Doppelgänger (1969 film), Doppelgänger'' (1969). Amersham
Amersham ( ) is a market town and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, England, in the Chiltern Hills, northwest of central London, south-east of Aylesbury and north-east of High Wycombe. Amersham is part of the London commuter belt. There are two distinct areas: * Old Amersham, set in the valley of the River Misbourne, containing the 13th-century parish church of St Mary's Church, Old Amersham, St. Mary's and several old pubs and coaching inns * Amersham-on-the-Hill, which grew in the early 20th century around Amersham station, which was served by the Metropolitan Railway (now the Metropolitan line) and the Great Central Railway. Doppelgänger (1969 Film)
''Journey to the Far Side of the Sun'' (also known by its original title ''Doppelgänger'') is a 1969 British science fiction film directed by Robert Parrish and starring Roy Thinnes, Ian Hendry, Lynn Loring, Loni von Friedl and Patrick Wymark. It was written by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and Donald James, and produced by the Andersons for Century 21. Set in the year 2069, the film concerns a joint European-NASA mission to investigate a newly discovered planet which lies directly opposite Earth on the far side of the Sun. The mission ends in disaster and the death of one of the astronauts, following which his colleague realises that the planet is a mirror image of Earth in every detail, with a parallel and duplicate timeline. Munch Bunch
The ''Munch Bunch'' is a series of children's books, created in the UK by Barrie and Elizabeth Henderson and originally published between 1979 and 1984. The ''Munch Bunch'' are a group of unwanted vegetables, fruits, legumes and nuts who were swept to the corner of a shop but ran away together and set up home in and around an old, forgotten garden shed. A spin-off television programme also ran for four series during the early 1980s. In addition, a licensed range of children's yoghurts — originally a tie-in with the television series — were launched in the early 1980s. "Munch Bunch" yoghurts and fromage frais continue to be marketed today, albeit using a cow mascot and with little remaining connection to the original characters and stories. The Adventures Of Rupert Bear
''The Adventures of Rupert Bear'' (''My Little Rupert'' in the US) was a live-action puppet television series, based on the Mary Tourtel character Rupert Bear, produced by ATV. It aired from 28 October 1970 to 24 August 1977 on the ITV network, with 156 11-minute episodes produced over four series, which received regular repeat screenings until 1981. Production The characters were all puppets, although the opening sequence featured a toy version of Rupert Bear sitting in a live-action child's bedroom. Rupert's friends and flying chariot appeared just as they had in the pages of the ''Daily Express'', although he was joined by some new friends, including a sprite called Willy Wisp. One of the most-remembered elements of the series was the theme song, which was written by Len Beadle and Ron Roker, sung by Jackie Lee, and reached No. 14 in the United Kingdom charts in 1971.
