John Pomeroy
John Foster Pomeroy (born March 26, 1951) is an American animator who has worked for several major studios, including Walt Disney Animation Studios and Sullivan Bluth Studios. He has also worked as producer, and screenwriter on several animated feature films. Career John Pomeroy started work at Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1973 as a background artist, and became a full animator in 1974 to work on '' Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too''. While working at Disney, he met fellow animators Don Bluth and Gary Goldman, and began working with them on an independent short film project, ''Banjo the Woodpile Cat''. In 1979 he, Bluth, Goldman and several other Disney animators left the studio to form the independent studio Don Bluth Productions (later to become Bluth Group), which produced the film ''The Secret of NIMH'' and the animation for laserdisc video games ''Dragon's Lair'' and '' Space Ace''. Donald Paul Hahn (born November 26, 1955) is an American film producer. He served as a producer for the Disney films '' Beauty and the Beast'' (1991, the first out of three animated films to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture), '' The Lion King'' (1994), '' The Hunchback of Notre Dame'' (1996), '' Atlantis: The Lost Empire'' (2001), and ''The Haunted Mansion'' (2003). Hahn has executive produced films by Disneynature since 2007, and founded the company Stone Circle Pictures in 2008 to produce the animation documentary film '' Waking Sleeping Beauty'' (2009). ''Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory'' is a 1971 American musical fantasy film directed by Mel Stuart from a screenplay by Roald Dahl, based on his 1964 novel ''Charlie and the Chocolate Factory''. It stars Gene Wilder as chocolatier Willy Wonka. The film tells the story of a poor child named Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) who, upon finding a Golden Ticket in a chocolate bar, wins the chance to visit Willy Wonka's chocolate factory along with four other children from around the world. Filming took place in Munich from August to November 1970. Dahl was credited with writing the film's screenplay; however, David Seltzer was brought in to do an uncredited rewrite.
