John J. McRae
John Jones McRae (January 10, 1815May 31, 1868) was an American politician in Mississippi. A Democrat, He also represented Mississippi in the United States Senate in 1851 and 1852, in the U.S. Congress in the 35th and 36th congresses, and in the Confederate Congress during the American Civil War. He also served as the 21st Governor of Mississippi from 1854 to 1857. He died on a visit to British Honduras (now Belize), where his brother Colin J. McRae Colin J. Lake Ponchartrain
Lake Pontchartrain ( ; ) is an estuary located in southeastern Louisiana in the United States. It covers an area of with an average depth of . Some shipping channels are kept deeper through dredging. It is roughly oval in shape, about from west to east and from south to north. In descending order of area, the estuary is located in parts of six Louisiana parishes: St. Tammany, Orleans, Jefferson, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, and Tangipahoa. The Chickasawhay River is a river about long in southeastern Mississippi in the United States. It is a principal tributary of the Pascagoula River that flows to the Gulf of Mexico. The Chickasawhay's tributaries also drain a portion of western Alabama. The name "Chickasawhay" comes from the Choctaw word ''chikashsha-ahi'', literally "Chickasaw potato".
