Joseph Fidler Walsh (born Joseph Woodward Fidler; November 20, 1947) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Best known as a member of the rock band Eagles (band), Eagles, his five-decade career includes solo work and stints in other bands: James Gang, Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, and New Zealand's Herbs (band), Herbs. He was part of the supergroup (music), supergroup The Best (band), The Best and had success as a solo artist and prolific session musician, appearing on other artists' recordings. In 2011, ''Rolling Stone'' ranked him No. 54 on its list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". In the mid-1960s, after attending Kent State University, Walsh played with several local Ohio bands before reaching national fame with the James Gang, whose hit "Funk 49, Funk #49" showcased his skills. ''Got Any Gum?'' is the eighth solo studio album by the American singer-songwriter Joe Walsh. It was originally released in October 1987, on the label Warner Brothers in the United States, and Full Moon in the UK, which was the last Walsh album to be released by either of those labels. The album features eight original songs which were written by Walsh with others and by himself, the album also features two covers, including the song " In My Car", which was co-written by Walsh with Ringo Starr, the former drummer for The Beatles (the song was originally released on Starr's ninth studio solo album ''Old Wave'', in 1983). The album also features vocal contributions from JD Souther and Survivor's lead vocalist Jimi Jamison. The album was received negatively by the majority of music critics, while other reviewers noted good points to the album. "Turn to Stone" is a 1972 song by the American singer-songwriter Joe Walsh and his band Barnstorm, with writing credits given to Terry Trabandt and Walsh. It was originally released on the album '' Barnstorm''. Walsh later covered the song on his 1974 solo album ''So What'', and released it as a single. ''Cash Box'' said that it showed off Walsh's "pyrotechnic guitar abilities" and commented on the "broad, swooping chords and accented rhythm section."
