Jingmen
Jingmen ( zh, t=, s=, w=Ching1mên2, p=Jīngmén) is a prefecture-level city in central Hubei province, People's Republic of China. Jingmen is within an area where cotton and oil crops are planted. The population of the prefecture is 2,873,687 (2010 population census). The urban area of Jingmen City has a population of about 400,000.It covers an area of 12,400 square kilometers and has a total population of more than 3 million. The maximum horizontal distance from east to west is 155 kilometers and the maximum vertical distance from north to south is 131 kilometers. Jingmen is so named as in ancient times it was the gateway to Jingzhou (ancient China), Jingzhou, one of the Nine Provinces and means literally ''Gateway to Jingzhou''. Duodao District
Duodao, United States National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency District () is a district of the city of Jingmen, Hubei, People's Republic of China. History The name 'Duodao' is derived from an incident involving Guan Yu said to have occurred in the area during the Three Kingdoms period. Shayang () is a county of west-central Hubei province, People's Republic of China. Administratively, it is part of the prefecture-level city of Jingmen. Zhongxiang () is a county-level city of Jingmen, central Hubei province, People's Republic of China. The name ''Zhongxiang'' means "Blessed with propitious omen", and was given to the city by the Jiajing Emperor in the Ming dynasty. Battle Of Changban
The Battle of Changban was fought between the warlords Cao Cao and Liu Bei in October 208 in the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. The battle took place at Changban (長坂; south of present-day Duodao District, Jingmen, Hubei). Background After Cao Cao unified northern China under his control in 207, he made arrangements for a southern campaign on Jing Province (covering present-day Hubei and Hunan), which was governed by Liu Biao at the time. Gezhouba Dam
The Gezhouba Dam or Gezhouba Water Control Project () on the Yangtze River is located in the western suburbs of Yichang, in central China's Hubei province. One of the largest run-of-the-river dams, it sits several kilometers upstream from downtown Yichang, just downstream of the fall of the Huangbo River into the Yangtze. Construction started on December 30, 1970 and ended on December 11, 1988. The dam has a total installed electrical capacity of .
