Jim Argue
James B. Argue Jr. (August 19, 1951 – May 3, 2018) was the President Pro Tempore of the Arkansas State Senate, United States. He was a Democratic member of the Arkansas Senate, representing the 32nd District from 1996 to 2008. Previously he was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1991 through 1996 Argue attended Little Rock Public Schools, graduated from Little Rock Hall High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in history and political science from Hendrix College in 1973. Jim served in the Arkansas House of Representatives for six years prior to being elected to the State Senate in 1996. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2000 and 2002. Mickey Dale Beebe ( ; born December 28, 1946) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 45th governor of Arkansas from 2007 to 2015. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Born in Amagon, Arkansas, Beebe is a graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Beebe entered private practice as an attorney before being elected to the Arkansas Senate in 1982. Beebe served five terms in the Arkansas Senate from 1983 to 2003 and served as President of the Senate during his last term. Beebe was elected Attorney General of Arkansas in 2002, where he served one term from 2003 to 2007.
