Jim Isabella
Jim Isabella is an American conservative radio talk show host based in Northeast Ohio, formerly of the radio station WNIR, in Kent, Ohio. His show was called the Jim Isabella Show. Career Before working at WNIR, Isabella previously was a newspaper correspondent for the Sun Newspaper for twenty years, and later became a correspondent for the Akron Beacon Journal for ten years. Isabella took on the role as the main substitute host for WNIR's other talk shows in July 2010, and frequently called into the shows of the late Howie Chizek and Tom Erickson. He filled in for their shows after Chizek unexpectedly died in June 2012 and Erickson fell ill around that same time period. During this time the audience got to know Isabella better and began to call for him to have his own show. When Erickson died on November 3, Isabella was offered and accepted Erickson's previous time slot, and has since remained at WNIR, while also doing sports broadcasting at WKNR. WNIR (100.1 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Kent, Ohio, carrying a talk format known as "WNIR 100 FM". Owned by Media-Com, Inc., the station serves the Akron metro area as the local affiliate for ABC News Radio, syndicated personalities Rich Valdes and Mike Gallagher, and is the radio home of Bob Golic. WNIR's studios are located in Franklin Township, while the station transmitter resides in Brimfield. In addition to a standard analog transmission, WNIR is available online. Kent is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the largest city in Portage County, Ohio, Portage County. It is located along the Cuyahoga River in Northeast Ohio on the western edge of the county. Howard Alan "Howie" Chizek (June 9, 1947 – June 16, 2012) was an American radio personality, former public address announcer, and philanthropist. Career Radio Chizek got his start in radio at Youngstown State University in 1964. Then, after a five-year stint at Youngstown's WBBW, Howie Chizek started hosting a talk radio show in the Akron, Ohio, market on WNIR FM-100.1. He began broadcasting with WNIR, then WKNT, on June 3, 1974, and remained there until his death in 2012. Chizek had the longest-running, no-guest talk radio show in America. Throughout that time, the show had included a listenership of over 300,000. It ran six days a week, from Monday through Saturday. James Everett Bohannon (January 7, 1944 – November 12, 2022) was an American broadcaster who worked in television and radio and hosted the nationally syndicated late night radio talk show ''The Jim Bohannon Show'' originally broadcast on the Mutual Broadcasting System and later the Westwood One Network from 1985 to 2022. For 31 years, he also hosted '' America in The Morning'', a nationally syndicated radio news show, stepping down in December 2015.
