Jessica Kondas
Jessica Kondas (born January 3, 2000) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Toronto Sceptres of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She previously played for SDE Hockey of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). She played college ice hockey at Minnesota State. Playing career College Kondas began her collegiate career for Minnesota State during the 2017–18 season. During her freshman year, she recorded one goal and two assists in 33 games. During the 2018–19 season in her sophomore year, she recorded two assists in 33 games. During the 2019–20 season in her junior year, she recorded four goals and one assist in 35 games. During the 2020–21 season in her senior year, she recorded three goals and two assists in 30 games. Western Collegiate Hockey Association
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college ice hockey conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The men's side of the league officially disbanded after seven members left to form the revived Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); the WCHA remains in operation as a women-only league. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal.
