Jerzy Janowicz
Jerzy Filip Janowicz Jr. (; born 13 November 1990) is a Polish inactive professional tennis player and padel player. Janowicz is best known for becoming the first Polish man to reach a Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major semifinal, at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships – Men's singles, 2013 Wimbledon Championships. Noted for his very powerful serve, Janowicz can hit at up to along with strong groundstrokes. Despite never winning an ATP Tour title, Janowicz obtained a career-high world ranking of No. 14 in August 2013. He was awarded the Cross of Merit (Poland), Gold Cross of Merit by Polish President Bronisław Komorowski in 2013 for his achievements. Łódź is a city in central Poland and a former industrial centre. It is the capital of Łódź Voivodeship, and is located south-west of Warsaw. The Grand Slam in tennis is the achievement of winning all four major championships in one discipline in a calendar year. In doubles, a Grand Slam may be achieved as a team or as an individual with different partners. Winning all four major championships consecutively but not within the same calendar year is referred to as a "non-calendar-year Grand Slam", while winning the four majors at any point during the course of a career is known as a "Career Grand Slam". The United States Open Tennis Championships is a hardcourt tennis tournament held annually at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, Flushing Meadows, starting on the last Monday in August and lasting for two weeks. Günter Bresnik
Günter Bresnik (born 21 April 1961) is an Austrian tennis coach. Early years Born in Vienna to two doctors, Bresnik grew up in Perchtoldsdorf. He began playing tennis at 16-years-old before he studied medicine for four years at the University of Vienna. As Bresnik recalls, his career as a coach “happened by accident, while studying medicine.” He had begun doing coaching sessions while in school, and made contacts with top players. One of them was 19-year-old Horst Skoff. In 1987 Skoff asked Bresnik to join him as coach during a five-week South American trip. Bresnik had planned to take off only one semester. He coached Skoff for three years full-time, and, with encouragement from his father, never returned to medical school. The PIF ATP Rankings (previously known as the Pepperstone ATP Rankings) are the merit-based method used by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for determining the qualification for entry as well as the seeding of players in all singles and doubles tournaments. The first rankings for singles were published on 23 August 1973 while the doubles players were ranked for the first time on 1 March 1976. Ranking points are awarded according to the stage of tournament reached, and the prestige of the tournament, with the four Grand Slam tournaments awarding the most points. David Ferrer Ern (; ; born 2 April 1982) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. He was ranked world No. 3 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in July 2013. Janko Tipsarević ( sr-Cyrl, Јанко Типсаревић, ; born 22 June 1984) is a Serbian tennis coach and former professional player. A * Ace: Serve where the tennis ball lands inside the '' service box'' and is not touched by the receiver; thus, a shot that is both a serve and a winner is an ace.
