Jerry Crasnick
Jerry Crasnick is an American sportswriter and baseball executive. He is a baseball writer for ESPN.com and Baseball America and a senior advisor to the Major League Baseball Players Association. Previously, he wrote for the sports website ESPN.com, the ''Biddeford Journal Tribune'', the ''Portland Press Herald'', and ''The Cincinnati Post''. Early life and education Crasnick is from Munjoy Hill in Portland, Maine. Crasnick received his bachelor's degree in Communications from Boston University. Career Crasnick began his career working for the ''Biddeford Journal Tribune'' in Maine, as well as the ''Portland Press Herald''. In 1988, Crasnick served as the beat writer for ''The Cincinnati Post'' where he covered the Cincinnati Reds. During his time as beat writer, Crasnick covered Pete Rose and his suspension from Major League Baseball. The 1990 World Series was the championship series of Major League Baseball's (MLB) 1990 season. The 87th edition of the World Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff played between the defending champions and heavily favored American League (AL) champion Oakland Athletics and the National League (NL) champion Cincinnati Reds. The Reds defeated the Athletics in a four-game sweep. It was the fifth four-game sweep by the NL and second by the Reds after they did it in 1976.
