Jeff Jones (basketball)
Jeffrey Allen Jones (born June 29, 1960) is an American former college basketball player and coach. He was a four-year starter for the Virginia Cavaliers, helping his team to win an NIT title and reach the NCAA Final Four. He became an assistant coach and eventually the head coach at his ''alma mater'', with a tenure of eight years; he then coached the American Eagles for thirteen years; and the Old Dominion Monarchs for eleven years. In total, Jones was a head coach for thirty-two years, amassing a overall record and a winning record with each of his three programs, reaching the NCAA Tournament at each stop—including an Elite Eight run with Virginia in 1995. John Crotty
John Kevin Crotty (born July 15, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'1" point guard from the University of Virginia, Crotty was undrafted, but played in 11 National Basketball Association (NBA) seasons from 1992 to 2003. After retiring from the NBA, Crotty moved into sports broadcasting with the Miami Heat. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. Bob Jones (basketball, Born 1940)
Robert Earl Jones (February 20, 1940 – May 14, 2021) was an American college basketball coach who was a men's head coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College. He played basketball at Georgetown College in Kentucky. He worked two years as assistant coach at Georgetown College before becoming assistant-coach with the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers in 1967. In 1972, he was promoted to head coach, after the resignation of Bob Daniels. Jones was also named the school's athletic director, succeeding William Douglas, who had resigned earlier in the year. Jones was fired as head coach in December 1979, but agreed to finish the season. On February 25, 1980, he coached his last game at Kentucky Wesleyan. He was hampered in his career by ailment and accusations of unenthusiastic recruiting. Jones resigned as athletic director in July. Apollo High School is a high school that is part of the Daviess County Public Schools district, located in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States. It was named after the Apollo Space Program, and opened in 1969 as a junior high school. It then converted into a high school in 1972 and held its first graduation in 1974.
